Every year thousands of riders around the globe gather together on the same day for the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride. The goal is to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer research, suicide prevention, and men’s mental health programs in partnership with the Movember Foundation, and have a blast while doing so.
Open to all genders, The DGR was founded in 2012 in Sydney, Australia, and is centered around classic and vintage styled motorcycles. While the event encompasses classic and vintage style, it also welcomes niche custom motorcycle styles such as cafe racers, choppers, scramblers, and more.
Because of the pandemic we weren’t able to participate in a large group ride this year, but we invited all who were participating in the Seattle motorcycle scene to swing by the shop to have their photo taken in their dapper getups and grab a cup of something tasty from The Wick.
Through our collective Triumph of Seattle fundraising team, we managed to raise nearly $5,000 toward charitable causes for men’s health, and the event globally reached $2.7 million raised this year alone. Triumph Motorcycles also showed up big time as the event’s lead sponsor for the 7th year in a row and donated several motorcycles globally to reward fundraising efforts.
Huge thank you to everyone who joined in on the fun this year!
Shoutout to Thomas Samuel for coming out and capturing this awesome video of the experience.  The two folks interviewed above are Rowan from the PNW’s favorite band of scooter misfits, The Soldiers of Destiny, and Lalo, one of our beloved customers and maker of hilarious real estate videos.
